[ dream #2 ] ota!!
You left me waiting for three hours.
[ Three hours that she willingly put herself through at the expense of putting faith in someone. She feels embarrassed saying it out loud, but she hopes that it'll help show just how much time of hers was really wasted. Her expression is stern, grip a little tight and definitely not friendly.
With her hand still on your shoulder, she guides you to a pair of seats you can both sit on. ]
Time is valuable to Juvia. So what was more important than your promise to her?
oh ho ho
Frustrated already, he nearly shrugs her hand from his shoulder. He's about to say something about how she's not the only one inconvenienced here, but more than that, somehow, he wants to let her know he still cares. Hijikata's aggravation subsides, released in a sigh that smells like tobacco.
He sits, posture casual as tension fades slowly from his muscles.
Not that he has an answer.] Nothing. Nothing - I just had to finish some work. [He hopes, with how dedicated she is to her job, Juvia will understand. But women are ??? and Hijikata never even pretends to understand, so he's holding his breath for a reply.]
ohohoho
You could have told Juvia that.
[ She's been both dreading and looking forward to actually testing out her newly acquired tech, so finding out she had been left by herself wasn't all too bad. If only for the fact that she has to assert some kind of authority around this crowd, she probably would have left it be until the next time they met. ]
Although, it almost feels like you knew it was going to be raining that day...

vice grip of terrorwoman's grasp, Hijikata sways along with Juvia's hand to lean on the bar. Only after she's berated him does he suck in a breath - a sigh of relief that allows the muscles in his shoulders to relax. He's just turning to the bartender, an order on the tip of his tongue, when she continues. Hijiakta's eyes dart back to her, brow twisting - he doesn't understand.
Is he supposed to? What the hell else did he forget!? This is terrible--] Uh. Well. I just.
Checked the weather. [ ????? ]

So it seems you did.... [ But... What if he is just trying to play her into thinking he totally checked the weather, just so he could successfully dupe her into thinking that, that, he didn't want to go!!! ] Juvia will keep that in mind if and when the next time we begin training.
[ She's still a little upset!! But not enough to outright say they won't re-schedule.... ]

He... doesn't know. So Hijikata just nods and grunts, ordering himself a drink of liquor more from want for distraction than alcohol.]
You don't want to make it up? [He tries to sound casual, like he's not second (and third and fourth) guessing himself with every word.]

Unlike her inner panic, Juvia is as composed as someone as socially awkward and stubborn as her can be. In this instance, she's glad things have gone well enough that she didn't have to fight anyone. ]
If you really intend to meet Juvia there... [ Unlike Hijikata, Juvia doesn't order much of anything. She's too focused on trying to act normal, and not stare too deeply into his eyes. ] then I would not mind.

[Jill just sighed. Ugh, where did they all come from and why did it have to be during the one time she wanted to leave early.]
I'll, uh, make it up to you?
no subject
Well, to be fair, she didn't actually expect much of a cordial response. It's part of the reason why she toughened herself up a little bit before walking into the darn place! Now she just feels... mean.]
As long as you aren't lying, Juvia will believe you. [ She squints her eyes comically at the other. ] ....And if you aren't busy, a good way to make it up would be to train with me for a little today.
no subject
Wait, training?
What kind of training?
no subject
[ Juvia, for a second, thinks it must be nice to be able to have that luxury. But she spent her money on this! She can't turn back now!! ]
My tech. To help control my water better!
no subject
[Totally didn't forget nope.
Not at all.]
So what do you need me to do?
no subject
I need you to help me control my water better!
Juvia couldn't think of anything else other than slicing up some buildings.
