[Kara would suggest the Badlands, but she knows Lapis well enough to assume that's out of the cards.]

White Sands ain't too bad, out where Eulogy is.

[Once through the Badlands the conditions are a little better, though it can still be a trek.

Kara hesitates another moment, before adding:]

It's where I figured my shit out.

[She's mainly worried that her speed will just drag her into somewhere really unpleasant out there. And Lapis isn't exactly the best at defending herself.

But Kara's suggestion sounds a little better, and so Lapis nods in response.]

Then I'll give it a try out there. [With how fast she can go now, she doubts it would take long to get there.

But she's snapped out of her thoughts at what the other woman says next, the only change in her expression being how her brows furrow just slightly.]

Did something like this happen to you before?

Something like it.

[That's a pretty vague answer, but considering only a few people know she's got more going on than just "human", Lapis is amongst a pretty select group of people. It's easier, though, to tell people are in the same boat, if only because they're less likely to rat her out.]

Took me a year to stop messing things up, just gotta keep at it.

[That's meant to be reassuring, in it's own way.]

[Even if it's vague, it's still enough of an answer for her. It's a relief to know that she's not the only person going through... whatever this is.]

A year is definitely better than never. I'll keep practicing. [At least she'll gain control eventually. That's even more of a relief.]

Though, do you know what caused your... issues?

[Unlike Lapis, Kara wasn't too physically inconvenienced by the changes made to her, although getting used to the extra strength did take some time. It was mostly the pain, and learning to use her wings.

But she figures it's close enough.]

Doctors with more ambition than compassion.

[It's why Kara had worried, at first, that someone had done something to Lapis.]
