[For those thirty seconds, Steph is definitely convinced that she hallucinated the knock - most of the things she's experienced have been auditory so it fits that pattern - but when Juvia speaks she figures that's probably real.]

Oh.

[It takes her another second to kick herself into gear, but she makes it to the door not long after, taking a steadying breath before she pulls it open, trying to look a lot less shitty than she feels.]

Hi, uh, this is really sweet of you but are you sure you wanna risk getting sick?

[ She honest to god didn't expect her to come out so soon, or how bad she truly did look. She squeezes her bag a little harder, caught off guard when she realizes she didn't think far enough into this to know what to say in response to that chance. ]

Oh. [ Uh. Give her a second-- ] Juvia wears gloves, so it should be alright.

[ They're her enhancements, so she definitely wouldn't leave them anywhere at home. Which is why she's even wearing them now, despite her hands being sweaty. Her face softens, scrunching her brows with worry once the surprise wears off. ]

Is it OK if I come in?

[Steph actually isn't sure about how the virus is transmitted, but she figures if she's careful about not like, breathing on Juvia it should be alright.]

Yeah, come on in. [Steph takes a step back to give Juvia room, then sort of... vaguely gestures at the living room.] Sorry about the mess.

[It's not all that messy; there's a few blankets piled on the couch and a handful of dishes in the sink, but it feels messy to Steph.]

[ Juvia nods her head, and adjusts her bag in her hands before heading in. Once inside, gives her place a cursory glance over. ]

I don't understand? It's fine in here. What are you talking about? [ Sadly, she has no brain to mouth filter, so she ends up blurting it out before realizing in a panic that she might sound rude. Almost immediately after that realization does she slap down her bag on the ground, sifting through the contents in a hurry. ]

I have something for you though!! Juvia worked on it as soon as she heard you were sick..

[Steph considers pointing out that she's a bit fussy about keeping her space clean, but she can see that Juvia feels a bit awkward about the questions and decides to just let it go.]

Is it a new robot body that doesn't get fevers, 'cause that'd be amazing right now?

[A joke!! She even smiles to make that clear.]

No! [ Juvia answers anyway despite recognizing it as a joke. She knows that somewhere, someone out there probably did just get a new robot body to not get fevers.. if you're rich enough, you can get anything.

But Juvia is not so rich, so what she gets out of her bag is a large lavender blanket she's made herself. It has Steph's name on it, with a single star next to it. ]

It's the next best thing! It can keep you warm no matter how cold or lonely you get.

[It's probably the combination of being sick and the lack of sleep that comes from it, but as soon as Steph sees the blanket she immediately tears up a little.]

It's so pretty, Juvia, you shouldn't have.

[She's so touched that Juvia cared enough to go to the effort of making her a blanket, just because she was sick.]

[ The first feeling she immediately recognizes is: yes, she totally got this right! But the following is: confusion. A lot of confusion. ]

Is that why there's water coming from your eyes?

[ She doesn't draw the conclusion immediately, in fact, she even sounds a little mystified when she asks that. She decides to tug the blanket up into her arms anyway, wobbling over to the other. ]

.......H-Here, let Juvia wrap you in it!

[Sometimes Steph forgets that Juvia is kind of weird, but when she shakes her head it's out of fondness rather than anything else, and she wipes at her eyes quickly, before leaning down a little so Juvia can wrap the blanket around her.]

This was really sweet of you, I love it.

[ Juvia, especially, feels warm inside. A tinge of red appears on her cheeks as she wraps the blanket around her, suddenly too embarrassed to know what to say. ]

It's nothing. Juvia has a lot of spare time so it was easy to make. [ Lies.....and a complete contradiction to what she said earilier, but it's said quietly under her breath as she entwines her fingers together. ]

How are you feeling?

[Steph is nice enough not to call Juvia out on the lie, simply giving her another big grin before curling her fingers around the edges of the blanket so it doesn't slip off while she wanders over to kettle, planning to fill it up with water.]

Kinda like I got hit by a truck.

[Well, she's honest at least.]

Would you like some tea?

[ Oh. It's worse than she ever considered. She should've known something that's knocking people out left and right would make poor Steph so sick. ]

That sounds painful.. [ Sadly, she also takes what her friend says quite literally. ] And yes, please, if it's not too much trouble.

Do you have any kind of appetite? ..At all?

[eggplanting]

[The kettle gets filled with water, then set back on to boil, as Steph goes digging for th tea.]

Nope!

[It's kind of tired but she says it with a smile, like oops, as if it's not that much of a big deal, because she doesn't want Juvia to worry too much.]

The doctors gave me some uh, it's like protein shake but it's got vitamins and stuff. I've been drinking that.

Nope?

[ Her response echoes in her head for a good ten seconds before she snaps back into the conversation enough to catch the tail end of her being given smoothies to drink. ]

Really?! Juvia didn't realize how sick you actually might've been then.. And you've been here, all by yourself! You must be so strong to be able to endure this!

[ She's sparkling, tearing up even at you Steph, with the silent implication that she just might do something about your situation if you don't speak up now...! ]

[Oh no! Steph immediately holds up her hands in a placating gesture, hoping to stop that worry before it spirals.]

I've mostly just been tired, and the doctors check up on me sometimes. It's okay, Juvia, I'm alright.

[ There's a long, quiet, silence before Juvia even says anything in response to that. The girl was already neck deep into her bag before she realizes that, no, this is Definitely not an emergency.

She slowly drags her hand out from the bag. ]

Oh. Really? You don't need Juvia to do anything?

To be a personal nurse? Chicken noodle soup? Medicine from my cabinet?
