[Kate steps inside, frowning at him. They've had this conversation before, but this is probably the first time she's been so aggressive about it.]

We need your help. Real help. I know you can do more than you have been, Koon.

[ Ah, he knows this conversation well.

It's also not a conversation he likes having — if it were possible, his frown would only grow. Instead, he rolls his eyes, walking towards the kitchen. ] If I helped more than I did, the RAC would have gotten me killed ages ago. [ He's lying, almost; neutrality is a fragile thing, sure, but guess who could also be doing more. ]

Wasn't the information I gave you last time enough?

Yeah, it was, but...

[She sighs, crossing her arms and perching on the arm of his couch.]

Look, there are all these rumors about abandoned bunkers and mines, and none of us can really figure out where they are. Plus, you're smart. I know the RAC wouldn't catch you if you didn't want them to.

[ Basic manners dictate that if there's a guest in one's home, the least he can do is at least give her some water — which is what he does. He returns to the living room quickly enough ( though really, they're all the same rooms anyway ), a glass of water in his hand, to be handed to Kate.

A pause, and just in case — ] It's not drugged.

[ And then as if he didn't just say that (?!?): ] And you want to ... get to them?

And— while I'm flattered, I don't have that guarantee. And I'm pretty sure I'm more useful when I'm alive than dead, anyway.

[Obviously, Koon! She pauses to peer down at the glass of water in her hand, mouth twisting. When she continues, her tone is dry.]

You know, Koon, it's the weirdest thing. I wasn't worried about my water being drugged until just this second.

... [ He could ask why but that's obvious. He just thinks is a terrible idea. ] Just because they're abandoned it doesn't mean they're not being watched.

But I'll see what I can do. [ Begrudgingly. Maybe he'll get lucky and get a warrant near by, or something. That'd be nice.

At least her dry tone pulls a smile out of him. ] Just in case you were worried. I'm being honest.

You are so weird, do you know that?

[That's mostly teasing, though, and she takes a sip of the water regardless.]

Look, I know it's dangerous, but we don't really have a choice. Everyone is so scattered, and we're running out of places to store supplies. Do you have any better ideas?

Said pot to the kettle. [ Look he won't deny his... "weirdness" ( though really, he's not that that weird ), but that definitely doesn't mean she's free from the blame, either!! Playing hero and stuff, smh. ]

Sometimes, hiding things in plain sight is easier than finding a remote area. Easier access, less chance of sticking out like a sore thumb.

Especially for supplies. [ A pause, then— ] Move meetings around regularly. Things like that.

See? [Kate jabs a finger in his direction.] You're good at planning. You're good at ideas. You could be helping lead, not... hiding out.
