qrow | rac evals
[ old town was a mess.
giorno's PDD was mostly full of news regarding the good will corps and after a while, he had to turn it off. there's just entirely too much going on and he's getting a headache trying to keep up with everything. anyway there's more important things to worry about, such as getting this evaluation done and over with. he's heard news of other agents passing theirs with flying colours; he can't be left behind.
he's a bit nervous. he knows that it's showing right through him because his movements are entirely too stiff and he's brooding, more than usual. while waiting for qrow he hastily chews on some candy as he reviews what information he's been given for orsenk. at least he's not trying to quell a riot this time around.
they're to meet orsenk. 'extended personal escort' in old town is a funny thing to be, especially for someone who already lives in old town, but no matter. that's not for him to decide. when he sees qrow, giorno straightens up and nods in greeting. ]
Hello, Qrow. How are things with you?
no subject
... when is he going to get a promotion? not anytime soon, apparently. so yes, he is salty. sorry, giorno. you're stuck with this salty old crow right here. ]
Don't be so formal. [ he takes out the flask he keeps in his pocket and chugs. drinking on the job! ] Doubt you really want to know, anyway.
no subject
he presents the warrant to him again. just for review. ]
There's not much to it, just us posing as bodyguards. Not exactly the most exciting but it's better than corralling protesters, or something like that.
no subject
qrow reviews the warrant, though, before yawning. ]
You could probably do this with your eyes closed.
[ it's... a compliment!! or it seems like it. ]

The only problem is that it has to be done.
[ giorno just smiles at him. if they die during this warrant, qrow .... ] Unfortunately, if it's a boring warrant, then I can't really show off much of my skills.
no subject
no ideas come yet, which is why he asks— ]
And your skills are?
giovanni | warrant
[ he's never directly worked with a company guy before, and he's not quite sure if he should count himself as lucky. the guy that he's going to work with is ... temperamental - at best. giorno can handle tempers, but as for the rest of the things that come with giovanni rammsteiner's reputation, well. he's not really sure what to make of it. (and as for his part - he's got nothing much to show other than a brand new level. everything else about him is predictable as an agent.)
and so, giorno finds himself back in old town again. the warrant says there's additional joy for capturing one of kidnappers in addition for the safe return - that's not a bad thing entirely, he's going to want that for his brother.
he'll be meeting giovanni in old town, closer to where the mines will be. giorno is perfectly still as he waits. he's a bit early from their agreed time. ]

You watch yourself now, Killjoy. 68 here has a mean bite.
As if on cue, Giovanni bares his razorblade teeth in something that stands in for a smile. His appearance, decked out in Cerberus Unit uniform-- he looks every inch the weapon he was made to be.
His Handler doesn't hang around, gets back into her Company issue vehicle and swiftly departs after a half-hearted command for the Dog to behave (without handing over the fail-safe sword-- killjoys just have to take the risk), leaving Giorno and Giovanni alone.
His smile, it grows brighter, wider.]
So, are you ready to play?
no subject
[ said rather simply. a mean bite, huh. that might come in useful later on. ]
Let's head to the mines.
[ giovanni looks like he could take on a crowd if need be. giorno isn't exactly a tank; he relies on speed and diplomacy to carry him through problems. failing that, force is his fallback, but not his primary weapon. although it's really too risky for him to say that being with giovanni is reassuring. ]

[Although perhaps the need will never arise-- regardless, he hopes it will. It's always in him, the desire to riptearmaim, to put his particular skill set to good use. But for the moment he follows the killjoy as directed, keeping level with him rather than the respectful two paces behind that Company personnel demand.
Sly-eyed, he assesses the RAC agent quite openly as they walk, not bothering to hide it.]
no subject
[ it doesn't bother him as much that he walks at level with him - nobody in the RAC cares too much about that kind of thing unless it was levels they were talking about, after all - but he keeps feeling bothered by the sensation of being watched. like both of them are looking from one side of a cage to another. it's not the kind of assumption he'd like to make this early on, but it's there anyway, a persistent kind of low-level alarm at the back of his mind. ]

You can call me whatever you like. Most people do.
[And he barks out a laugh, indifferent. Unit 68, mutt, dog, it-- he'll respond all the same. What does it matter, after all? And yet--]
My given name, though, as you've rightly discerned, is Giovanni. As for how I like to play...let's just say the more dead bodies left in my wake when I'm done, the better.
