[ Navigating the dark labyrinth of Old Town is ordinarily a fairly easy task. He remembers the grooves in the streets, the feel of stone as his heel makes contact--an uneven space here, a slope there. Lavi could slip through this world blindfolded, and in his current circumstances, he can't help but think it'd be easier.
Of course, he may just be thinking particularly unkindly of his partner because he wanted that kitten.

(Evidently, his capacity to look menacing is strong enough to deter any would-be night creatures on the return trip as well, though he's at least half sure it has something to do with the heavy armaments shared between them.)
