[ Jack's energy seems to subside too, but his own is for very different reasons. He's evaluating, after all. Every once in a while, a warrant would come through for some moron that'd gotten into some shit, but their "resume" as it was actually impressed him. And if there was something Jack was very good at, even if it was an understated skill, it was seeing talent in other people. It wasn't necessarily because he admired other's talents, though. As he listens, it's not even hard to see where he stands with that on his face.

He looks for use in other people.

So he listens quietly, drinking in every word, because each bit provides a detail he needs. The skill, that was one thing, and on skill alone, yeah, he could probably recommend the guy to get conveniently snatched up by the Company. But skill wasn't it. There had to be more than that, because skill didn't mean much when it wasn't accompanied with other personality traits that Jack found useful too. ]

Oh, yeah, got that answer for you real easy. Because it is batshit crazy, one. I mean-- Look, just objectively speaking here? The whole "oh man morals don't apply" thing? Totally nutso. Like, that's the kinda talk where coming from the wrong mouth? Ohhh man, I put guys like that in the very tops of the mines so they die slow. But. We're still evaluating that aspect. I am.

[ He smiles in a way that's full of charisma unfitting for the moment, so it's much more like a wolf's smile. ]

But, will admit, there is a line there. Ambition, drive, that's all positive. People that strive for innovation, I mean, hell, that's admirable. Plenty of people innovate every goddamn day, and y'know, under questionable circumstances, most likely. Don't question that, do we? But there's a difference there. You know what it is?
